What is the SES Hall of Fame?
The SES Stack Sampling Hall of Fame is our Society’s highest honor, awarded to a Member in recognition of outstanding engineering accomplishments and extraordinary contributions toward the advancement of emissions measurement technology.
The award is presented during the SSSAAP conference. The award ceremony is an opportunity to honor the inductee and present their achievements in the form of a light-hearted roast. It is one of the highlights of the SSSAAP conference and should not be missed!
SES members may submit nominations for the award to the Hall of Fame Nomination and Selection Committee. The Committee screens nominations for eligibility and identifies qualified candidates for the ballot. The ballot is then submitted to the SES Membership for a vote. Criteria that the Hall of Fame Nomination and Selection Committee considers when they screen nominees include:
- Contributions to the field of emission measurement - for example, development of innovative methods/techniques, important research, influential writings, advocacy for the industry, teaching/mentoring, etc.
- SES Membership - being a long-standing member of SES and recognizing our Society’s importance to our profession.
- Service to SES - for example, serving on boards and committees, chairing sessions, chairing the conference, volunteering time for SES activities, etc.
- Good character - a person of integrity, honesty, courage, and determination.
- QSTI or QSTO certification (current or past) is a bonus, but not required.
If you know someone who you think is deserving of a nomination, send an email to the Hall of Fame Committee Chairperson and include some information as to why you think they would be qualified.
